The Pass Pass Central tool is the key to mobility in the Hauts-de-France region.
The Hauts-de-France Mobilités Central tool is a shared system that ensures effective and practical mobility throughout the Hauts-de-France region. It is based on an extensive range of services and functions to support passengers at every stage of their journey (gathering information, use of transport services, after-sales services), and to enable transport authorities and operators to monitor usage and adapt their transport services accordingly.
The Hauts-de-France Mobilités call for tenders committee has selected Conduent to create and operate the Pass Pass Central system.
"A unifying system to provide support for sustainable mobility in the Hauts-de-France region."
A single Pass Pass ticketing medium
Collaboration between Hauts-de-France Mobilités members has resulted in the consolidation of numerous projects, including the implementation, as of 2011, of a single Pass Pass ticketing medium that enables users to move from one transport network to another and benefit from all associated transport services using the same travel pass. It accommodates or gives access to single, intermodal and integrated fares, as well as single and multiservice prices. To date, approximately 800,000 Pass Pass cards are in use within the region.
At present, 9 networks are covered by Pass Pass:
Easier travel for passengers
→ Functions to prepare for a journey:
. Present the transport options available to travel from point A to point B within the area, and beyond.
. Present the transport options best suited to the passenger's needs.
. Identify fares according to various profiles.
. Enable the purchase of transport tickets and other transport options (carpooling, self-service bicycles) available via the Pass Pass card.
→ Transport assistance services:
. Indicate in real time the availability of various services (self-service bicycles, electric vehicle charging points, etc.).
. Provide real-time information on foreseeable or potential disruptions.
. Propose alternative travel options in the event of disruptions.
. Obtain after-sales assistance from any Pass Pass partner.
→ Functions accessible via up-to-date and scalable media:
. Pass Pass web portal comprising functions that can be integrated with the websites of each partner.
. Mobile applications (identified as Pass Pass and/or partners, based on the Hauts-de-France Mobilités Central tool).
. Optional implementation of innovative services: 2D bar codes and NFC tags (information at stops), e-tickets, post-invoicing.
Better knowledge of journeys within the area in order to promote intermodal transport
→ Support for passengers:
. Coordinate operations, in particular by managing connections, through the exchange of information on changes to services in real time.
. Send information (disruptions, changes of itinerary, etc.) to passengers.
. Make Pass Pass terminals available for the purposes of distribution, after-sales service and information.
→ Sharing information for intermodal operations throughout the area:
. Create a common repository to share data on transport and mobility services and activities (journeys, etc.).
. Provide multi-network and multi-service statistics for the optimisation and coordination of services, and to guide urban development policies.
. Financial revenue breakdown calculations.
In addition to the financial participation of Hauts-de-France Mobilités members, the French government and European Union are also helping to fund the Pass Pass Central system:
- The French government is participating through a public transport and sustainable mobility call for projects, led by the Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy;
- The EU is taking part through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
